Peter started his karting career at the age of 8 focusing on Indoor Kart Racing. He then began racing in Prokarts going onto win the Warden Law Kart Championship on two occasions, finishing second overall in the 2000 British Prokart Championship (Honda Challenge), winning the 2000 British 'O' Plate  and representing England on two occasions in the Inter Nations Kart Championship winning the 2001 event overall, which was the first ever win for the kart manufacturer 7Kart in the Prokart category at Llandow.

After a racing in Super 1 in Rotax Max, a brief spell racing single seaters followed after retiring from Kart racing at the age of 22. He then made comeback in 19 years later in 2021 (at the age of 40) in the Prokart category winning the 2024 Hooton Park Prokart Championship in addition to winning various events in the UK Kart Series and at Teesside.

In 2025 Peter switched his full focus to the newly created GX UK Access Karting Prokart category winning all five Championship rounds that he competed in, adding the D Plate at Llandow and O Plate at Clay Pigeon along the way. Peter choose to race in GX-UK Prokarts due to the ethos of the Championship, the friendly nature of the paddock and the fact that the Championship is extremely well run, well supported and very well organised, not to mention the 'A' list circuits that the Championship visits throughout the year. Being based in the cold of the North East of England in Durham, he is very much looking forward to a home round at Warden Law in 2026.
