3 Qualifying
3.1 all karts taking part in qualifying must have been safety checked and approved before entering the circuit
3.2 only one driver from the team may be on circuit at any one time.
3.3 tyres and transponders do need to be transferred from kart to kart during qualifying, these tyres must be the race tyres from the team in question.
3.4 the start grid for the race is decided by the fastest laps from each team during the session set by any driver, provided they conform to the technical regulations of the class when leaving the circuit.
3.5 each team must complete a representative number of laps in the session to prevent teams trying to preserve tyre life in the attempt to gain an advantage in the race. This will be decided by the organsiers after the first practice session and disclosed to the teams.
3.6 a team will not be penalised as per point 3.5 if they have reliability issues or unavoidable problems such as a puncture etc to be decided by the organisers/clerk of the course
4 Starts
4.1 all karts will leave the pits in grid order and complete 1 full rolling lap to warm tyres in a sensible manner before lining up on the start grid in their relevant grid box
4.2 all starts will be from a standing position and the race will begin on the change from red to green, red to out or a waved flag depending on the appropriate mechanism based on the circuit logistics
4.3 anyone deemed to have jumped the start or lined up in the incorrect grid slot will be given an automatic 10 second penalty
5 Race
5.1 the race will be over a timed period of 3 hours and 20 minutes and will end when all the competitors that are running next cross the line after the time elapsed
5.2 the winner will be decided on number of total laps completed
5.3 in the event that the number of laps completed for two teams is identical, the person who completed these laps first will be declared the higher placed finisher
5.4 if a race ends under a red flag due to an unforeseen issue the results will be rolled back to the last complete lap for the entire field that are still running and points 5.2 and 5.3 remain in place
5.5 GX-UK is exclusively a relay style event where each competitor uses their own when the previous driver arrives in the pits.
6 Pitstops
6.1 all teams must make a minimum of 5 pitstops during the 3 hours and 20 minutes of racing
6.2 all teams must change driver and kart at each pitstop, transferring thew tyres, wheels and transponder from the kart entering the pits to the karting leaving the pits with the new driver.
6.3 when entering the pits, karts will pass a control cone, when this happens the scrutineer of scrutineers’ assistant will start a stopwatch with the teams race number on it. The karts will then be weighed and once weighed put on a trolley and the team stopwatch placed in the seat. it can then be taken to the ‘work zone’ where tires, transponders etc can be safely swapped onto the teams next race kart. once the scrutineer has declared the kart safe and all wheels are properly attached the kart can be taken to the dummy grid. The team will hand their stopwatch to the dummy grid Marshall. once the stopwatch reaches 4 minutes the team can re-enter the race.
6.4 if the team reaches the dummy grid and their stopwatch has already reached 4 minutes they can go immediately under the instruction of the dummy grid marshal. if the stopwatch has stopped for any reason, it must be restarted and the team may not leave till 5 minutes is reached.
7 Penalties
7.1 any infringement to the start procedure such as being out of position or a jump start will be a fixed 10 second penalty
7.2 any driving infringement for driving standards, avoidable contact etc will be a fixed 10s penalty for the first 2 offences, a third across the team of drivers will result in a 1 lap penalty, any subsequent penalty will be 1 lap without limit.
7.3 a black flag will result in that driver being pitted and a 10-minute pitstop made mandatory to send out the next driver. That driver can take no further part in the event but can help with pitstops for the team till the end of the race.
7.4 anyone leaving the pits early or without instruction will get a mandatory 5-minute pitstop that will not count as part of their 5 minimum stops and the driver cannot be changed at this penalty stop
7.5 if a driver and kart if under the weight for the class will have a 1 lap penalty per 1kg they are under. e.g. if the limit is 162kg and a kart is 161.5kg then it would receive a 1 lap penalty, 160.0 would be a 2 lap penalty and so on.
8 Driver Communication
8.1 drivers can only be given instructions to pit via a pit board at the designated area which will vary circuit to circuit
8.2 No driver radios or mobile phones are allowed to be used by the team in the pits or the driver on track at anytime.
9 Technical regualtions
9.1 All classes participating in an Access Karting Enduro will obey the normal technical regulations for the class in question
9.2 The only exception to 9.1 will be that no class can use wets at anytime during the race.
10 Race stoppage procedure
10.1 If a red flag is shown all karts must pull to the outside of the circuit and stop immediately in a controlled fashion.
10.2 The incident causing the red flag will be cleared and the race will be restarted from the standing start
10.3 If the incident is serious enough to warrant all karts returning to the pits the race will be rolled back to the last complete lap and restarted under the normal starting procedure
10.4 The Battenberg flag can be used at any time to clear and incident rather than a red flag. If this is the case the lead karts number will be displayed on the digiboard or by manual number board. This kart will become the pace kart and need to slow and gather the field at approx 50% of normal racing speed. when the incident is cleared the race will resume from the start/finish line under a green flag or light. no one may overtake before the start/finish line under green conditions.
10.5 If a red flag or a Battenberg are shown the pitlane will be closed immediately. Anyone already in the pits will either 1, stop their stop watch under red flag, or 2, continue their stop as normal under a Battenberg.
10.6 anyone entering the pits accidently or with intent to gain an advantage during scenarios listed in 10.5 will receive a 3 lap penalty
